If you want cool factor, this is it. The natural light exposure from all sides, coupled with its giant floor-to-ceiling windows offers a creative’s dream for shooting a natural-light session.
Family Photography Session Styling
With this chosen space, anything light, airy, and neutral worked best for family photography. Coordinating soft colors, patterns, and textures came together to offer symmetry and cohesion when everyone stood together. Also, this ensures individual pairings made sense visually too. The girls loved their dresses and really enjoyed playing around twirling and showing me their ballet moves while I captured their playfulness and personalities. I have been working with this family for several years and am happy that the girls look forward to seeing me each year. Being able to grow with my family clients is probably the most rewarding part of being a family photographer. I look forward to catching up every year!
Sibling Posing
Katherine and Ashley were naturally playful and funny. It was not hard to harness their energy and compel them to get silly with me. Sibling posing and family photography can be a balancing act between barking orders and leading by example. Often times I will read the energy and vibe or the child or children involved. As such, it ensures I am not coming on too strong and potentially making anyone feel uncomfortable. It is normal for children to be shy at first. it is also normal for children to warm up after some time and start showing their true nature. Once you have a relationship established, it’s even easier to get their personalities to shine through. Katherine and Ashley were ready to shoot and excited for their family session days before we were scheduled to meet – so I have been told.
Parent feature
Aside from the silliness and family photography, I also take the time to focus on the parents. When they look back on these photos, I want them to remember their bond and what it was like just the two of them. Holding your relationship close and at the forefront of priorities is important when raising young children. Arranging different groupings between family members helps to show their different dynamics. Variety, composition, and artistic vision help to create some of the most beautiful galleries and family memories.
