Soon you will be welcoming your newborn baby into the world, how exciting! This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to capture the most creative and artistic imagery of your precious baby. Whether you choose a studio session, or in your home, we dive into all the details surrounding your session here.
Sessions are scheduled 7-10 days after you deliver to ensure a sleepy baby for all those adorable squishy newborn poses. You should reserve your session a few months in advance of your delivery to ensure availability. A small deposit holds your reservation and guarantees your preferred session date and time. A consultation follows the deposit where we discuss your likes, dislikes, preferences, as well as any desired images. Other topics include wardrobe, who will be participating, and choosing your favourite props and accessories.
Sessions are booked in the studio for traditional posed newborn photography. This is where I use all my tips and tricks from over the years to maximize your baby’s posing potential. A variety of props, accessories and soft colour palettes are used to compliment your baby’s skin tone and accentuate your baby’s features.
Alternatively we can schedule your newborn photography session in your home. The look and feel of these photos are very different from a studio session. They are dramatic, intimate, and use natural posing. The backdrop is your own home with popular shooting spaces being the living room, master bedroom, and nursery. I love drawing inspiration from unique spaces in your home to create meaningful memories.
It is important for you to make sure you trust the person handling your precious new baby. I have been mentored by an internationally renowned, award-winning and accredited photographer with a focus on baby physiology and safe handling. My approach is always soft and delicate with a mixture of love and patience for each newborn. The safety of your newborn is never compromised during our session. I have handled many happy (and sometimes not-so-happy) newborns with over 800 successful sessions under my belt.
