The Preto Lofts
In this article I will be featuring one of my favourite studios in Toronto, the Preto Lofts. Located in the Junction, this warehouse-converted-studio offers two different rooms and two different looks to shoot in. both offer ambient natural light and stunning settings for maternity portrait sessions.

The studio on occasion has beautiful decor installations for a period of time. The spring inspired floral decor was in place for our maternity session and the result was stunning.
Aside from the couch and floral installation, the oversized warehouse windows are another great shooting are. They are huge and offer ample natural light. It was dark and storming on the day of our session and was able to capture beautiful contrast and played into the moody vibe of the space. Using the florals to frame the bottom of the maternity portraits was instrumental in bringing the eye up through the photo.
The preto lofts also feature this giant modern wall and curtains you can slide over. We didn’t end up using the curtains, but they could add an interesting element into a different type of session. We used this wall to pose against, in front of, and back light using part of the window.
