Newborn Photography Blog – Welcome!

Newborn photography is an obsession and a passion. This is a personal diary of favorite sessions, teachable moments, and reference posts. The goal is to be informative, to provide a deeper insight into my thoughts, and process, and to showcase my work

Newborn Photography – Mobile Studio

Deciding to go mobile with the studio is the next natural progression in my photography journey. Having worked in a multitude of settings, homes, and lighting conditions – there is nothing that can surprise me. Mastering newborn photography, studio lighting, and natural light sessions have allowed me to walk into any setting and create my work flawlessly. It gives me the rush to conquer any space and provide a luxury experience to my clients from the comfort of their own homes.

Having a new baby is hard enough, and sometimes the delivery can have unexpected challenges. New parent anxieties about leaving home, driving, and inclement weather are resolved. An added benefit for younger, more shy children is that they are in their comfort zone. Grandparents can be on-site to help if needed, providing additional support. It’s a win-win for everyone.

About Your Newborn Photographer, Gosia

Gosia Dixon has been a professional photographer for the last 11 years, specializing in the art of newborn photography, maternity photography, BW boudoir portraits, and baby milestone photography including cake smash, and artful outdoor family photography.

When Gosia decided to pursue photography full-time, she was mentored by the award-winning and internationally recognized, Cannon-affiliated photographer – Stephanie Robins, Photographer of the Year – NAPCP. Under Stephanie, Gosia learned the art of newborn photography with an emphasis on safety and posing. Stephanie Robins has a kinesiology and massage therapy background. Her studies included understanding babies’ physiology, something often overlooked in newborn photography. This, in turn, provided invaluable perspective in conducting sessions safely and effectively. Newborn safety is a top priority.

On a personal note, Gosia has two kids who inspired this photography journey. Daughters Misha and Mylee were the very first muse that sparked something profound. They inspired a craving to master the craft of photography. The pursuit of excellence while providing artful newborn photography and family milestones was the driving force behind Sugar Plum Photography.
