A maternity session can be very personal and intimate. Great care is taken during our consultation to go over your desired final look. Sometimes, it is a time where the Mom discloses some personal details about herself I need to take into account when creating the portraits. It can be a story behind a scar, a personal triumph with weight loss, or an insecurity about a tattoo. No matter how big or small, if it matters to you – it matters to me. This is especially true when photographing a boudoir maternity session. Rest assured, you are in good hands.
Mommy & Me Maternity: The Warm-Up
I love to start my sessions with a prelude to what is ultimately the end goal: boudoir maternity portraits. With several dress selections to choose from, it is not hard to find one that lights up mom’s eyes. The goal is to make you feel beautiful and pampered. Frankly, you deserve nothing short of that considering the magical process that’s happening inside of you at the moment. Kimberley’s son joined us for a few portraits, which is always so nice. He was a bit shy, but with mom’s encouragement and kind words opened up to share a few million-dollar smiles. Thank you, little buddy.
Boudoir Maternity: Let’s Get Personal
When you feel comfortable, it will be time to switch gears and get a little bit personal. Boudoir maternity need not be intimidating. It is a celebration of what your body is doing, not how you look. How you look and how you are posed is my job – let me worry about that. You are in good hands :) You just worry about feeling good, focusing on the positive (there are many!), and how gorgeous these portraits will be when you see them. A year from now when you look back, these portraits will be so special. Your body will look different, your children slightly grown, and I promise you will love the way you look.
