Maternity | Sugar Plum Photography – Richelle & Dan
The sun is shining, the weather is warm, all is good again.
I shared this warm summer-like morning with Dan, Richelle, and soon-to-be big sister Sydney. I loved everything about this maternity session, from the awesome trail in the woods down to the fringe on Miss Sydney’s boots and her love of dandelions.
Outdoor maternity is a great option with young curious children. It gives us an opportunity to capture wonderfully candid portraits of everyone being themselves, in a natural and fun setting. I had no idea Sydney was so in love with flowers until I suggested she hold one for a portrait to add some colour, and next thing I knew she had picked a whole bunch. Her careful arrangement of them was so adorable I was holding my breath that no one would say anything to disturb this sweet & tender moment. The outdoor natural setting allows us to compliment it with comfortable, casual clothing. Also a must with young, small children. The best part is just making it fun. Sydney and I joked, played games, picked flowers, and my only instruction to her was when to snuggle her parents, to which she happily obliged.
I can’t wait to do it again soon with the newest addition in-studio. See you guys soon.
